2 1/2 cups All-Purpose Flour Or type 00
2 Tbsp Olive Oil
1 pkg (2 1/4 tsp) Instant Yeast
1 cup (luke warm) Water
1 1/2 tsp Sugar
1 tsp Salt
1/4 cup Pizza Sauce
4 oz (113g) Fresh Mozzarella Cheese or Burrata cheese
1/4 cup (freshly shaved) Parmesan Cheese
1/2 cup Cherry Tomatoes
1/2cup Arugula
4 slices Prosciutto

Prosciutto Pizza with Quick Homemade Pizza Dough

Why use store-bought pizza dough when you can quickly make your own from scratch for this delicious prosciuto pizza with cherry tomatos and arugula.

Make the Pizza Dough

Combine the luke warm water with the yeast and sugar and let rest for 10 min. Using a mixer with a dough attachment or your hands, combine the sugar, 1 tsp salt, the flour and 2 Tbsp of olive oil and mix/knead until the dough is smooth and elastic. Cover and let rise for 30 -45 minutes.

Make the Pizza

Preheat the oven 370°F / 187°C. Add the pizza stone to the oven to warm. Line a baking sheet if not using a pizza stone. Roll the pizza dough out but leave a nice thickness of about 1". Tip - instead of using extra flour to roll it out, you can use cornmeal which adds some delicious texture to the pizza dough.

Spread the tomato sauce (or tomato paste mixed with a tbsp of water) onto the dough. Slice the fresh mozzarella cheese and add to the pizza dough. Place the pizza on the hot pizza stone or the baking sheet and bake for 15-18 minutes.

Top with the arugula, fresh Parmesan cheese shavings, Prosciutto slices, and tomatoes, and serve.

Tomato Sauce and Pizza Variation

I love paking a cheese pizza or cheese and pepperoni pizza with this quick and easy pizza dough and make my own pizza sauce with 6 fresh tomatoes, 2 garlic clovevs, 1 onion, 1/4 cup water - let cook for 15 minutes and puree, then add oregano, a tsp of sugar, a tsp of honey, and red pepper flakes. Season with salt and pepper.
