2 lbs (0.90 kg) TomatoesOr 3 cupes of canned whole peeled tomatoes with their juice

2 Tbsp chopped (optional) Fresh Basil

1/4 cup Heavy Cream

1 lb (.45kg), dried Pastaany type or shape

2 (or hotdogs) Bratwurst

1 Tbsp Oil

If you go for the fresh tomatoes, peel them first, remove the seeds and dice them. if using canned tomatoes, obviously skip that part. Peel and dice the onion. Chop the basil. Add the butter to a pot over medium heat. Add the tomatoes, basil and onion. Once it starts to boil, turn it down to medium-low heat and let simmer 20 min. |

Meanwhile, make the pasta according to the package directions. |

Slice the bratwurst or hotdogs. Add the oil to a pan on medium heat. Sauté for 2-3 minutes. |

I always purée my sauce, but if you like it chunky, you can leave it as-is, otherwise purée it with a blender or immersion blender then add to the bratwurst or hotdogs. Add the sugar and cream and stir. Simmer for 3 minutes on low. Add your favorite cooked pasta noodles and let simmer another 3 minutes. |
