How to Make Homemade Self-Rising Flour
What is the difference between all-purpose flour and self-rising flour?
All-purpose flour is is made from a mixture of hard and soft wheat and contains 10-12% protein, which allows it to form gluten that is necessary to create the structure for many baked goods.
Self-rising flour is a mixture of all-purpose flour, baking powder and salt. This simple combination allows your baked goods to rise without any additional leaveners. And then when combined with yeast, you get extra the volume, which makes self-rising flour perfect for muffins, biscuits, pancakes, or anything you want to bake that you want to be nice and fluffy.
