Steps

1
Done

Marinate the Top-Round Steak

Peel and mince the garlic. Combine the oil, garlic, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and the juice of a half a lemon. Season the steak - generously - with salt and pepper. Rub the marinade to coat both sides. Let sit at room temperature for a good hour (or in the refrigerator overnight - in which case before broiling, let it sit at room temperature for a good 30 min. first).

2
Done

Broil the Top-Round Steak

Preheat the broiler. Brush off the garlic from the steak because it could burn easily. Place the steak on a sheet pan and broil on the top rack for approx. 7 minutes until the top is lightly charred. Flip the steak over and broil for another 4-5 mintes. The internal temperature should read 125°F / 51°C for medium rare. Let sit for 10 minutes before slicing. (Serving suggestion - herb butter - melt 1 stick of butter, add freshly chopped parsely, a bit of lemon zest, 1/2 tsp salt, and if desired you can add some red pepper flakes for a bit of heat).
