8 (e.g., honey crisp) Apples
3/4 cup Brown Sugar
2 Tbsp Cornstarch
1 Lemon
1 tsp Cinnamon
pinch Nutmeg
pinch Salt
1 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
Cobbler Topping
2 cups All-Purpose Flour
2 cups Sugar
1/2 tsp Salt
1 cup Milk
1 stick (8 Tbsp) Butter

Old-Fashioned Homemade Apple Cobbler

Who doesn't love good old-fashioned apple cobbler hot out of the oven with ice cream or whipped cream?

Preheat the oven 350°F/176°C.

Make the Apple Cobbler Filling

Peel and slice the apples. Add 3/4 cup of water to a pot with the apples and put on the stove on medium heat. Add the brown sugar, vanilla, a pinch of salt, nutmeg, cinnamon, and hte juice of one lemon. Mix the cornstartch with 1/4 cup of cold water and add to the filling. Cook for 5 min. Set aside.

Make the Cobbler topping

Mix all the dry ingredients as listed above. Melt the butter. Add with the milk.

Bake the Apple Cobbler

Pour the apple cobbler filling into a casserole dish, then the topping. Sprinkle with more cinnamon if desired. Bake for 40 min. until golden brown. (Serve with ice cream or whipped cream).
